Abdul Khaliq given look-after charge of FIA
Earlier, Additional DG FIA Jan Mohammad was given look-after charge of FIA DG on January 29
ISLAMABAD: According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, DG National Police Bureau and Grade 21 officer of the Police Service, has been given the look after charge of FIA DG with immediate effect. He will also continue to discharge his duties as DG National Police Bureau.
Earlier, Additional DG FIA Jan Mohammad was given the look-after charge of FIA DG on January 29. On January 29, the regular FIA DG Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir was made OSD. However, no permanent appointment had been made to the post of FIA DG for the last two months.
It may be recalled that Abdul Khaliq Sheikh is among the officers who have been recommended for promotion to Grade 22 by the High Powered Selection Board. It is likely that he will be appointed as the regular FIA DG. It may be recalled that the approval of the regular appointment of FIA DG is subject to federal oversight.
