LAHORE:Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial has directed the timely completion of under-construction sports complexes in Gujrat and Rawalpindi Divisions by June this year.
The announcement came during a key meeting held at Punjab Stadium on Monday to review the progress of ongoing sports development schemes. The meeting was attended by DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Ch, Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali, Project Director PMU Qaiser Raza, Section Officer Mirza Nadeem and other officials. A couple of PMU officers from Gujrat and Rawalpindi Divisions also participated in the meeting via video link. Highlighting the scope of ongoing projects, Secretary Muzaffar Khan Sial revealed that construction work is underway on 15 sports schemes in Rawalpindi Division and nine in Gujrat Division. “The best sports infrastructure is being developed across Punjab to promote sports culture and identify new talent,” he stated. He added that key developments include the restoration of five sports complexes in Attock, seven in Rawalpindi, two in Chakwal, and one in Jhelum.
