PESHAWAR: The prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz has been conferred upon Professor Dr. Ziaul Haq, an eminent educationist, public health expert, and Vice-Chancellor of Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, and Islamia College University, Peshawar. This national honor recognizes his exceptional leadership and remarkable contributions to academia, research, and professional services.
President Asif Ali Zardari, presented this prestigious award to Dr Ziaul Haq id at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad. Notably, Prof.Dr. Ziaul Haq became the youngest Vice Chancellor in Pakistan at the age of just 40.
He completed his MBBS from Khyber Medical College, Peshawar. He then pursued his PhD in Public Health from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. Currently, he serves as the vice chancellor of two prestigious institutions - KMU and Islamia College University, Peshawar. Additionally, he is the Convener of the Higher Education Task Force established by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.Prof.Dr Zia ul Haq hails from a Sadat family of Upper Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
