PESHAWAR: The capital city police has written to the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to repair the boundary wall of Hayatabad as it is one of the reasons of various crime incidents in the township.
“The residents of Hayatabad are persistently complaining regarding crimes against persons and property, including mobile snatching, robbery, car theft, and other criminal activities. Amongst others, one of the key contributing factors to these incidents is the breakage of the boundary walls at multiple locations, due to which security has been compromised time and again,” stated a letter sent by the Senior Superintendent of Police (operations) Masood Ahmad Bangash to the director general PDA.
The letter added that it had become routine that these criminals, after committing crimes, escape via these broken boundary walls. It said that the Peshawar Police were striving to curb crimes and arrest the criminals but certain precautionary steps were needed to be taken for the same as well.
“It is therefore requested that the broken boundary wall in the areas of Hayatabad may kindly be repaired at the earliest in order to check the criminal activities and ensure the safety of the inhabitants,” stated the letter.
