PESHAWAR: On the occasion of Pakistan Day, senior journalist Arshad Aziz Malik was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan in recognition of his journalistic services.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi conferred the civil award on him in a prestigious ceremony at Peshawar.
Arshad Aziz Malik is regarded as one of Pakistan’s leading journalists. Through investigative reporting, he played a significant role in bringing facts to the public in an effective manner.
He began his journalistic career in 1991 and joined Jang Group as resident editor of Peshawar in 2014.
He filed over a thousand investigative reports, exposing irregularities in development projects, abuse of power, corruption, and fraud. He also served as the president of the Khyber Union of Journalists for two years, during which he played a vital role in enhancing journalists’ skills, linking their jobs to the wage board, and ensuring free healthcare facilities for them. He is also author of a book — KP SCAMS: A Journey of Investigative Journalism.
