Major infiltration bid at Pak-Afghan border foiled

Security forces neutralise 16 terrorists in North Waziristan's Ghulam Khan Kallay area

RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 16 Khwarij who were trying to infiltrate into the country through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan district.

On the night of March 22 and 23, the movement of a group of Khwarij, trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces in general area Ghulam Khan Kallay, North Waziristan District. Troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate.

After an intense fire exchange, all 16 Khwarij were sent to hell, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said. Pakistan has been consistently asking the Interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. The ISPR said the Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by Khwarij for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan. Security forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its borders and eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari appreciated the security forces for stopping the attempt of intrusion at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the district of North Waziristan. He appreciated the security forces for killing 16 Khawarij in a timely operation. He said the brave armed forces of Pakistan were determined to defend borders of the country around the clock. He said the whole nation stood with the security forces in the war against terrorism.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif appreciated officers and personnel of security forces for foiling an attempt of intrusion into Pakistan from Afghanistan by Fitna Al-Khawarij in Ghulam Khan Kalay, district North Waziristan. He lauded the officers and personnel of security forces for killing 16 Khawarij who tried to intrude into Pakistan. He said terrorists would not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs. He said he and the whole Pakistani nation stood with the brave armed forces which were defending the country with unwavering determination.
