29 die on road in 24 hours
LAHORE:The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,290 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
In these accidents, 29 people died, whereas 1,507 were injured. Out of these, 676 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 831 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Injured man dies in hospital
A 45-year-old man who was injured in a traffic accident two days ago in Nishtar Colony died while undergoing treatment in hospital. The victim was identified as Siya Masih, son of Bashir, and a resident of Bedian Road. According to police, he sustained severe injuries in the accident and was immediately shifted to the hospital for medical care. However, despite efforts by doctors, he could not survive. Police handed over the body to Edhi volunteers, who transferred it to the morgue.
