LAHORE:Body of a 14-year-old girl with her throat slit was found in Shah Gohar Pir Darbar graveyard in the Baghbanpura area on Sunday.
According to police sources, the victim was unidentified, so far and no documents or belongings were found near her body that could help determine her identity. Passersby noticed the body lying in the graveyard and informed the police. Upon receiving the information, law enforcement and forensic teams arrived at the scene.
Police confirmed that the victim’s throat had been slit, indicating a brutal killing. However, the motive behind the murder remained unclear. Body was shifted to the morgue via an Edhi ambulance.
Police have urged citizens to come forward if they have any information regarding the girl’s identity or any suspicious activity noticed in the area. The incident sent waves of fear and concern among locals.
Youth found dead
A 20-year-old youth was found dead on the footpath near Qainchi Stop in the Kot Lakhpat police precincts on Sunday.
According to initial reports, passersby noticed the body on the footpath early in the morning and alerted the police. Responding to the call, police arrived at the scene and began an initial assessment. Police claimed that the victim, who has not yet been identified, appeared to be a drug addict and might have succumbed to excessive drug consumption. No visible signs of violence or foul play were reported. Edhi volunteers transported the body to the morgue. The incident has raised concerns among locals about drug abuse and the increasing number of unattended deaths in public places.
