PESHAWAR: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Kohat, Saturday rejected the bail pleas of two suspects allegedly involved in attacks on the deputy commissioner of Kurram and the assistant commissioner of upper Kurram.

The court sent both the accused to the prison, who were arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police.

During the hearing, the CTD investigation officer informed the court that the accused Rahman Muhammad alias Rahman, was suspected of involvement in terrorist activities and financing banned organisations.

He said the CTD had arrested him during the investigation of this case, and substantial evidence existed against him.

Similarly, the second accused, Masam Abbas, was alleged to have collaborated with other suspects in an attack on Assistant Commissioner upper Kurram, Abdul Manan, in which he was injured.

According to the CTD police, the attack occurred during the implementation of a peace agreement and the accused had used heavy weaponry in the attack. The CTD argued that the suspects did not deserve any leniency.
