MANSEHRA: Authorities launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a schoolgirl at a government middle school in Hilkot on Saturday.
“We have shifted the body of the girl to the health facility from school for the medico-legal formalities,” Shujahat Hussain Shah, the Additional SHO Battal Police Station, told reporters.
Mehrun Nisa Naseem, while lodging the FIR with the police, stated that her 14-year-old daughter Kausar Bibi, who was the 8th-grade student at GMS Hilkot, had gone to school in the morning as usual.
“At around 1230 noon one of the schoolteachers telephoned me and informed me that my daughter’s body was lying in the backyard of the school gallery and I rushed to the scene along with my family members and found her body in a pool of blood,” the police quoted her as saying in the FIR.
Naseem said that she had only to say that her daughter fired on her with a pistol and claimed her life.
The police shifted the body to Rural Health Centre Battal for the autopsy and completed the medico-legal formalities. Shujahat Hussain Shah, the additional SHO Battal, said the FIR was lodged under section 174 of Ppc.
“We have also collected circumstantial evidence of the crime scene and initiated our investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the death,” he said.
Shah said that according to the preliminary investigation, the annual examinations of the deceased schoolgirl were also underway at her school.
