Sindh Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) President Allama Baqar Zaidi has urged the incumbent rulers in the country to follow in the footsteps of Hazrat Ali (RA) to ensure the rule of law and provision of justice to the oppressed countrymen.
Allama Zaidi stated this while speaking to the people who attended the central MWM's camp on MA Jinnah Road on Saturday to mark Youm-e-Ali.
He said the MWM had been striving hard for the supremacy of the rule of law and ensuring justice to the oppressed Pakistanis. He said that for this noble purpose, the rulers had to follow the principles, teachings, and lifestyle of Hazrat Ali (RA). He recalled that Hazrat Ali (RA) had laid down his life for the supreme cause of ensuring justice and rule of law on his watch.
The MWM leader mentioned that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions had sacrificed their lives on the battleground of Karbala to protect Islam and the cause of justice in society as per the Islamic principles.
He told the audience that congregations and processions were being taken out from 19 to 21 Ramazan across Pakistan to commemrate the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA).
Security arrangements
The central Yaum-e-Ali procession marking the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) concluded peacefully in Karachi on Saturday, the 21st of Ramazan, under tight security arrangements, adds Faraz Khan.
The main procession had issued from the Nishtar Park, where multiple smaller processions from different parts of the city had converged before the commencement of a central Majlis. Afterward, the procession followed its traditional route and culminated at the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar. While en route, participants stopped on MA Jinnah Road in front of Imambargah Ali Raza to offer Namaz-e-Zohrain. To ensure public safety, strict security arrangements were put in place by the government and law enforcement agencies. A ban on pillion riding was also enforced throughout the city.
A total of 5,367 security personnel were deployed along the procession route, including 76 senior officers, 725 NGOs, 3,469 head constables and constables, 137 female police officers, 70 Special Branch personnel and 75 Rapid Response Force personnel.
Additionally, 815 traffic police officers were tasked with managing traffic flow and alternative routes. Walk-through gates were installed at entry and exit points, while bomb disposal squads and Special Branch officers were stationed for participants’ screening. Rescue teams and ambulances were put on high alert to provide immediate medical assistance in case of an emergency. A comprehensive traffic plan was implemented to facilitate smooth movement across the city.
MA Jinnah Road was closed from Guru Mandir to Tower, and traffic was diverted. Traffic from Nazimabad was rerouted via Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road through Garden. Traffic from Liaquatabad was diverted from Teen Hatti to Lasbela Chowk and onward to Central Jail (Martin Road). Traffic from Hassan Square to PPP Chowrangi was redirected via Kashmir Road, Shahrah-e-Quaideen and Jail Flyover towards Teen Hatti and Lasbela Chowk. Traffic from Sharea Faisal to Numaish was rerouted through Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Society Light Signal and Kashmir Road.
Traffic from Garden Zoo to MA Jinnah Road was diverted via Anklesaria Road, Gul Plaza, Coast Guard and Holy Family Hospital.
