ISLAMABAD: With unstoppable momentum, upbeat Pakistan are determined to stretch the five-match T20 series to a dramatic finale.

Riding a wave of newfound rhythm, Pakistan have transformed into a formidable force as they head into the fourth T20 at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, on Sunday.

In a scintillating display of power and precision, Pakistan decimated New Zealand in just 16 overs in the third match, courtesy of an electrifying performance by Hasan Nawaz. Smashing the fastest T20 hundred for Pakistan, the young sensation ignited the team’s resurgence, propelling them to a commanding nine-wicket victory—a turnaround that had seemed all but impossible after the initial pair of matches.

“Traveling to these hilly terrains, our single goal has been to keep the series alive, and winning the fourth T20 is critical to that effort.

Following our triumph in the third match, our confidence has soared to unprecedented heights. It wasn’t about the players’ potential—it was about unlocking the rhythm and belief that had been missing until now.

With Friday’s win, every player feels empowered to challenge the very best,” a team official revealed.

The official added, “Our captain, Salman Ali Agha, deserves immense credit for his masterful leadership in the third T20.

His ability to instill confidence in Hasan has been nothing short of inspirational.”

Looking ahead to the fourth match, the official emphasised the importance of maintaining this momentum.

“We aim to leverage the victory at Auckland to fuel the remainder of the series. Securing a win in the fourth match and forcing the series into a decider is crucial for our aspirations.”

The official recalled Pakistan’s previous T20 tour of New Zealand under Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy, when the team suffered a 1-4 defeat.

“This series is not just about individual victories—it’s about redemption and proving our mettle. Overcoming a 0-2 deficit to stage a comeback will be a monumental achievement,” he said.

“While no drastic changes are anticipated, Sunday’s wicket conditions will ultimately guide our final strategy,” the official concluded. Weather is expected to be clear for Sunday’s day/night affair.
