Balochistan has witnessed a surge in terror attacks in recent years, highlighting the region's ongoing security challenges. Armed groups have targeted security forces, infrastructure and civilians. These attacks underscore the persistent threat posed by militant organisations and the need for enhanced counterterrorism measures. The situation calls for a coordinated effort to strengthen security and address the root causes of extremism.
To achieve lasting peace, the government must prioritise inclusive dialogue with Baloch leaders and communities, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights respected. Investing in development is also crucial as it can create opportunities for the local population. Human rights concerns also cannot be neglected. A peaceful resolution demands transparency and accountability and efforts to integrate Balochistan into the national framework on an equitable basis.
