MANSEHRA: The police have seized hundreds of motorcycles allegedly used in street crimes and robberies in the city and its suburbs. The crackdown, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Wajid Khan, targeted unregistered motorcycles being used for unlawful activities.
“These motorbikes were used by unregistered bikers (cyclists) for street crimes and robberies. Several such cases have been registered with the police in recent weeks and months,” Khan said. He added that police had received multiple complaints about criminals disguising themselves as bikya service providers, using helmets and green-coloured markings to blend in.
Following the orders of District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, the police launched a citywide crackdown.“These unregistered bikes also cause traffic congestion by gathering in the middle of roads,” Khan said, adding that police would verify the credentials of all seized motorcycle owners. He warned all those running unregistered bike services in the city and its suburbs must stop this unlawful practice otherwise they will face strict legal action.
