KARACHI: United Hurricanes defeated Friends United by 9 wickets in the Eliminator 2 to reach the final of AKG Premier League at Aga Khan Gymkhana ground.
United batted first and were bowled out for 150 runs in 20 overs. Kamran Wali played brilliantly, scoring 45 runs off 29 balls with four fours and a six. Javed Baig added 16 runs.
Junaid Khan and Awais ullah Baig took two wickets each, conceding 24 and 48 runs, respectively. Parvez Ali and Ameer Qureshi chipped in with one wicket each. United Hurricanes comfortably chased down the 151-run target, losing just one wicket in 17.5 overs.
Skipper Saud Islam and Ameer Qureshi dominated the Friends United bowlers with their aggressive batting. Ameer Qureshi remained unbeaten with 65 runs off 42 balls, including three fours and four massive sixes. Saud Islam scored an unbeaten 60 runs off 47 balls with seven boundaries and one six. They built an unbroken second-wicket partnership. Parvez Ali, the only dismissed batter from the winning team, managed 21 runs.
