KARACHI: A senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQMP) said on Wednesday his party could consider quitting the federal government in protest over the government’s failure to fulfil its promises.
Speaking to a Geo News reporter in Islamabad, MNA Amin Ul Haque warned that his party could make a decision to quit the government, join the opposition or be independent if the government’s attitude towards its ally did not change.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had promised to work on Sindh and Hyderabad packages, but no progress had been made so far. The government had not yet honoured even a single promise, he lamented.
The MQMP lawmaker further said that they had reservations over several matters, including the Karachi and Hyderabad development packages. He said the party had convened meetings of its coordination and central committees to deliberate on the situation and take a decision.
