ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has summoned Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in the matter of non-distribution of Rs2 billion for PSL-8.
The PAC held its meeting under Chairman Junaid Akbar Khan here Wednesday which examined the audit para regarding the non-distribution of about Rs2 billion for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8.
According to audit authorities, this amount was not distributed between the PCB and the franchise.
PAC Chairman Junaid Akbar Khan asked whether the PCB chairman should not have been in the committee today. During the meeting, the Secretary Cabinet said that it was not possible for him to come due to the incidents in Quetta and Balochistan.
Committee member Sanaullah Mastikhel said that the PCB was illegally brought under the cabinet in the caretaker set-up. Committee member Syed Naveed Qamar said that we cannot examine the audit report without the PCB chairman. The PAC summoned PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in the next meeting.
The PAC chairman said that in the Champions Trophy 2025, it has been heard that Rs29 billion was spent and the income was around Rs1.7 billion. The PCB Chief Finance Officer denied it and said that this is not true, this tournament was of the ICC and the budget of the ICC Champions Trophy was 70 million dollars.
The PAC members raised the question whose money was spent on the renovation of stadiums, and the PAC sought details of the expenses incurred during the Champions Trophy.
