PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Labour Department has decided to introduce the E-Mazdoor Card for workers employed in various industries across the province.
The initiative is aimed at revolutionising labour welfare and streamlining the service records, said a handout on Wednesday.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour, Fazal Shakoor Khan.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Labour Mian Adil Iqbal, Vice-Commissioner of the Employees’ Social Security Institution (ESSI) and other concerned officials.
The provincial minister was given a briefing on the E-Mazdoor Card and was that the card would provide a comprehensive record of a worker’s employment history, including entry into service, tenure at various factories and other essential details.
On the occasion, the provincial minister issued directives to the officers concerned to expedite the implementation process and ensure the card’s issuance at the earliest.
He emphasized that the digitization process within the Labour Department was progressing rapidly, and reforms through digital transformation were essential for improving the system.
He said that digitization woul enhance transparency, save time, and ensure that all labour service records remain secure.
He added that the incumbent KP government had taken tangible steps to introduce innovative solutions that benefited workers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
