Security concerns: Major varsities in Balochistan shut down campuses
University faculty and staff have been instructed to come to campus to ensure proper conduct of online classes
QUETTA: Due to security concerns, universities in Quetta have been closed to students and academic activities have been shifted online.
According to reports, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University had already moved its classes online due to security concerns.
Following this, two major universities in the province, the University of Balochistan and BUITEMS, also closed their campuses to students and transitioned academic activities to online platforms.
However, university faculty and staff have been instructed to come to campus to ensure the proper conduct of online classes.
It should also be noted that the university suspended academic activities starting Tuesday due to a student protest and a blockade at the Admin Block. The UoT administration also directed students to vacate the hostels.
