PTI Hazara division office-bearers reshuffled
MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reshuffled the local leadership in the Hazara division following corruption charges levelled by the party’s central vice president Azam Khan Swati against lawmakers from the district.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s provincial general secretary in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Asghar Khan, issued notifications announcing new office-bearers for the Hazara division and Mansehra district.
According to party insiders, the fresh appointments indicate that PTI’s provincial leadership did not give weight to Swati’s allegations.Akramullah Ghazi, chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee and one of the lawmakers targeted by Swati, has been appointed as the PTI president for Mansehra district.
“In consultation with the party’s provincial president in KP, Akramullah Khan Ghazi has been appointed as the PTI president for Mansehra district,” said a notification issued by Ali Asghar Khan.
Ghazi expressed gratitude to the party leadership and said that persons with vested interests were conspiring against him.He strictly refuted Swati’s allegation and said he had never been involved in corruption and remained committed to the development of his constituency.
The PTI’s MNA from Abbottabad, Ali Khan Jadoon, has been appointed as the divisional president of PTI in Hazara.Following his release last month, Azam Khan Swati had accused PTI lawmakers from Mansehra of engaging in corruption through their blue-eyed. However, these allegations were strongly refuted by the lawmakers, who later presented themselves before a committee formed by the chief minister and PTI’s provincial president to investigate the matter.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, who hails from Mansehra, congratulated all newly-appointed office-bearers in the district and division.“I am optimistic that the newly-appointed office-bearers would uphold the mission of PTI’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, and work towards strengthening the party in the division,” he said.
