ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed that Pakistan has imported 3,140 metric tonnes of sugar amounting to $3.0366 million from March 2024 to January 2025 under incumbent government.
Giving the details of countries break-down for import sugar in a written reply to a question of Tahira Aurangzeb, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan stated that 1,955.050 metric-tonne (MT) sugar from Malaysia worth US$1.6741 million, 220.010MT from Germany worth US$0.5332 million, 425MT from Thailand worth US$0.3473 million, 444.870MT from UAE worth US$0.3470 million, 74.245MT from the US worth US$0.1090 million, 20,051MT from the UK worth US$0.0282 million, 0.010 MT from Denmark worth US$0,0015, 0.721 MT from China worth US$0,0014 million, 0.050MT from India worth of US$0,0012, 0.825MT from France worth US$0.0011, 0,002MT from Switzerland worth US$0,004 million and 0.090MT from South Korea worth US$0,0002 million.
