Teacher held in Mansehra for blackmailing schoolgirls
MANSEHRA: The police claimed to have arrested a schoolteacher who filmed obscene videos with schoolgirls and threatened them to upload those visual contents on social media if they disclosed the matter to their parents or anyone else.
“The brother of one of the victim schoolgirls approached the police with the obscene videos. I immediately constituted an investigation team headed by the senior superintendent of police, which led to the arrest of the schoolteacher,” District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur told reporters here on Thursday.
He said that the complainant, a resident of the Chandor area in the Lassan Nawab Police Station reported that Mohammad Tufail, a teacher at Government High School (Combined) Chandor had made obscene videos of his sister and other students in one of the classrooms of the school to blackmail them.
“When my family discovered the video on a mobile phone and inquired about it, she confirmed its authenticity. She revealed that the accused had threatened to upload the video on social media if she told anyone,” Gandapur quoted the victim’s brother as saying in the FIR.
The DPO said that the accused teacher had been involved in such criminal activities for the past two years targeting many schoolgirls and using similar threats to keep them silenced.“We have also been investigating whether the arrested teacher acted alone, or whether more sexual predators are involved in it,” he said.
Gandapur said that a special investigation team headed by SSP Oghi Nazir Khan and SP Investigation Sheeraz Khan and including the DSP Pulrah Gulzar Khan and SHO Lassan Nawab was constituted which thoroughly investigated the allegations and arrested the accused teacher.
“The accused committed the heinous crime during his posting in one of the classrooms of Government High School (Combined) Chandor in Lassan Nawab,” the DPO said. He said that the police had seized the obscene videos and other incriminating material, which had been sent for further forensic analysis.
Gandapur said the FIR was lodged against the accused under Sections 376 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 53 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection and Welfare Act, 2010.
