PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Thursday dismissed the writ petitions filed for the reinstatement of teachers, who were dismissed after being recruited on fake certificates and upheld the government’s decision.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Sabitullah heard the case. The petitioners’ lawyers appeared in court, while Additional Advocate General Taimur Haider and Advocate Asad Jan Durrani represented the provincial government.
The petitioners’ lawyers argued that their clients were unlawfully dismissed from their jobs, which was an injustice to them. However, the AAG informed the court that the petitioners were recruited based on fake educational certificates, which they initially concealed.
Upon scrutiny and investigation of the documents, he pleaded that their educational certificates were found forged. The concerned universities were also contacted for verification, and they confirmed that the degrees were fake.
The AAG said that submitting fake certificates was illegal and that the government had a clear policy against such actions. He argued that individuals involved in such fraudulent activities created disorder in the system and that it was unfair to those, who had genuinely obtained degrees.
Action against such individuals was necessary, and the government dismissed them upon verification of their forged documents. After hearing the arguments, the court then dismissed all writ petitions.
