‘15 new factories to be set up in Sheikhupura’
LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has said that 15 new factories are going to be set up in the Quaid-i-Azam Business Park, Sheikhupura in the next two months. On the directions of CM Punjab, a garment city is being built where the Chinese textile industry will move. Under the auspices of FIEDMC, 90 percent of the security wall of the industrial estates on an area of 9,000 acres in Faisalabad has been completed. The remaining work will be completed in the next two months.
He said, ‘We have stopped the real estate business in industrial estates that is why, factories are now being set up here at a rapid pace. According to the policy, the plots of those who do not set up a factory within two years are being cancelled.’
Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, while addressing a press conference at the DGPR Office, strongly condemned the terror attack on Jaffar Express and termed it a regrettable incident. He said that the enemy does not want to see Pakistan progressing. Pakistan's armed forces and security agencies bravely crushed the evil intentions of the enemies of peace. Terrorists do not believe in religion, they are enemies of humanity, Ulema and the entire nation have to unite and play their role in eliminating terrorism.
The minister said that during his visit to China with CM Punjab, agreements were signed with several Chinese companies’ a Chinese mobile phone company has started setting up a mobile phone making plant in Industrial Estate Faisalabad and this plant will start production in two years. Agreements have also been signed with Chinese companies regarding setting up a manufacturing plant for lithium batteries and solar panels in Punjab.
He highlighted that Tevta institutions were up-graded, courses were aligned with modern requirements, courses in German, Arabic, Korean and Japanese languages were started in Tevta institutions in addition to Chinese. He said, ‘On the CM’s directions, three-month IT short courses are being conducted free-of-cost and their international certification is also being done. Under the CM Asan Business Finance and Asan Karobar Card Scheme, interest-free loans are being given for the promotion of small and medium-sized businesses.
