FDE announces registration for school, college enrolments
Islamabad:The Federal Directorate of Education has announced registration for admissions to Islamabad model schools and colleges for the academic session 2025-26.
The admissions are open to students in selected educational institutions, in both urban and rural areas of the capital city, according to officials. The FDE is offering several special facilities for students, including a free Pink Bus Service, a free lunch programme and the availability of smart classrooms. Also, a new curriculum focusing on coding, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship will be introduced, with teaching support from experts at institutions such as NUST, NUML and Space Technology Institute.
For students seeking admission to Early Childhood Education and primary levels, registration forms for ECE-I, ECE-II/Prep and class I will be available for submission from March 17 to March 28. Interviews for ECE-I course will begin on March 17, with admission tests for ECE-II/Prep scheduled for April 8 and class 1 on April 9.
The merit list for these levels will be announced on April 14, and the admission forms will be issued and accepted between April 14 and 16. Classes for these students will commence on April 17.
For students applying to class 2 through class 9, the registration forms will also be available from March 17 to 28. Admission tests for class 6 will take place on April 7 and those for classes 2-5 and 7-9 will be held on April 9. The merit list for these levels will also be announced on April 14, with the submission of admission forms taking place from April 14 to 16. Classes for these students will begin on April 17.
As for the eligibility criteria for admissions, ECE-I is for children aged 3-4 years, ECE-II/Prep for children aged 4-5 years and Class I for children aged 5-6 years. Admissions are open to residents of Islamabad and children of federal government employees.
