MARDAN: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Mardan, announced results of secondary school certificate (SSC) annual examination-2016, in which the top two positions were clinched by female students.
The result was declared at the prize distribution ceremony held for the position holders at the board offices. The gazette would be made public today.
Sara Khizar of Noor Education System Kheshgi Bala, Nowshera, topped the board by obtaining 1041 marks out of total 1100. Afreenish Sheraz of the Pioneers English Grammar School Marghuz, Swabi, remained second with 1039 marks and Yaseen of Al-Khair Model High School Katlang, Mardan, stood third with 1035 marks.
In the humanities group, Ziaul Islam Farooq of Pasban Model School Zarobi, Swabi, secured 940 marks and got first position, Rubaa Khan of Presentation Convent High School Risalpur, Nowshera, stood second with 906 marks. Noor Mohammad of Centre for Speech and Hearing, Mardan, secured third position by getting 891 marks.
A total of 60,606 students appeared in the examination, of whom 46,842 were declared successful with passing percentage of 77.29.
The official said the detailed marks certificates (DMCs) of the government and private educational institutes have been dispatched to the candidates. He said collection booths have been established in all cities and at the BISE offices, wherefrom private candidates could collect DMCs.
