JIT summons 10 PTI members over ‘propaganda’
ISLAMABAD: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT), led by the inspector general of police, Islamabad, has intensified its crackdown on individuals involved in spreading negative propaganda on social media.
The JIT has summoned 10 members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) including key party figures. According to sources, the JIT is investigating those responsible for anti-Pakistan rhetoric and false accusations on social media.
The investigation team was constituted through Notification F.No.8/9/2024-FIA/ under Section 30 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, with the aim of identifying and prosecuting the individuals involved. The sources indicate that the JIT has substantial evidence proving the involvement of the accused. They have been ordered to appear before the JIT on March 7 at 12pm to clarify their stance on the matter.
Those summoned are Zulfi Bukhari, Asif Rasheed, Muhammad Arshad, Sibghatullah Warraich, Azhar Mashwani, Muhammad Nauman Afzal, Jibran Ilyas, Syed Salman Raza Zaidi, Musa Warraich and Ali Hasnain Malik.
