MCCI arranges calligraphy exhibition

MULTAN: Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) here Friday arranged a group calligraphy exhibition of renowned artists at its art gallery in connection with the sacred month of Ramazan.
Multan Regional Tax Office Chief Commissioner Saleem Raza Asif and MCCI president Fareed Mughis Sheikh opened the exhibition.
Works of Ibne-Kaleem, Aisha Kamal, Ali IjaNizami, Rashid Seyal, Muhammad Mukhtar Ali, Hafiz Iqbal Bhatti, Anwar Jamal, Hamid Iqbal khan, Masud Akhtar, Ustad Shamsi, Zahid Ali Wartsi, Muhammad Shoaib Khan, Adeel Ahmed, Mubashar Kaleem, Ra’ana Rashid, Ghulam Mustafa, Muhammad Sarwar bin Qalander, Nadeem Sabiri, Farah Rehman, Munawar, Anwar-ul Haq Ropari, Athar Abbas, Shehzad Akhtar and Syed Sarfraz Ali Shah were displayed.
The exhibition will continue till June 18.
A number of calligraphy fanciers, artists, students from different art institutions visited the gallery. Works of coloured oil on canvas and water colour attracted the viewers.
Thunderstorm trips 130 Mepco feeders

MULTAN: A thunderstorm with dusty winds hit Multan and other south Punjab cities on Friday evening.
It tripped electricity feeders in different cities of south Punjab. According to the Met officials, speed of thunderstorm was 70 kilometers per hour. The officials predicted more rain in the next 24 hours.
Multan Electric Power Company spokesman Jamshed Niazi said that the whole Mepco region received strong thunderstorm and rain in scattered areas. He said that 130 feeders tripped in the region. He said that power supply had been restored after the repair work.
