Vietnam, Rwanda envoys discuss trade with governor

LAHORE:Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Anh Tuan and High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan Harerimana Fatou called on Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan separately at Governor’s House on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Governor said that Pakistani businessmen can expand their business throughout Africa by making Rwanda a gateway. He said that Rwanda can consider the possibility of importing rice, meat, dairy products and leather from Pakistan.

The governor said that cooperation between Pakistan, Vietnam and Rwanda in various sectors can be taken forward. He said that there is a need to find new avenues of relations between Pakistan, Vietnam and Rwanda. He said that cooperation in commerce and tourism can open new vistas of relations between Pakistan and Vietnam. He said that the volume of trade between the two countries can be doubled in various sectors.

The governor further said that agriculture, surgical equipment and textile products in Pakistan are of high quality. He said that Vietnam can consider the possibilities of trade in agriculture and textiles. During the meeting, it was agreed to exchange businesswomen associated with women’s chambers and high-level delegations to promote trade between Pakistan and Rwanda.

Rwanda High Commissioner Harimana Fatou said that trade in pharmaceutical and textile sectors will be promoted with Pakistan. Meanwhile, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye Durmus Bastug called on Minister for Local Government Punjab Zeeshan Rafiq at his office, here on Friday.

According to a press release, Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian was also present.During the meeting, bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest were discussed.The provincial minister mentioned the recent visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistan and said that the history of friendship between the two countries spans decades.
