PU, OPC sign MoU on internship

LAHORE

Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies and Overseas Pakistanis Commission, Punjab, have signed a memorandum Of understanding (MoU) to provide internship facilities to the students of the institute.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at Punjab University Vice-Chancellor’s office, according to a handout issued here on Friday.

PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran and OPC Director General Nadeem Sarwar signed the agreement on behalf of their organisations. OPC Vice-Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt, OPC Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti, PU External Linkages  Director Maria Maldonado and ICS incharge Noshina Saleem were also present.

According to the MoU, the joint collaboration aims at imparting short and long-term internship to young students of the university. 

OPC and PU will also value and develop non-formal education programmes/vocational trainings with students of PU as a tool to work for betterment of society.

Moreover, PU and OPC will arrange social events such as awareness programmes, seminars, debates and trainings in which representatives of PU and OPC will participate together.   The interns would be deputed to guide and facilitate overseas Pakistanis at airports.
