LANDIKOTAL: Traders face problems as Torkham border crossing remained closed for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday.
Torkham Customs Clearing Agents Association President Mujeeb Khan Shinwari told The News several rounds of talks between border officials of Pakistan and Afghanistan were held.
He said they also met Customs Collector Mateen Alam who was also part of the negotiation team with Afghan border officials.
Quoting Customs officials, Mujeeb Shinwari said they were hopeful that border would be reopened today as the authorities had reportedly reached an understanding with the Afghan side on the issue.
A trader, Qari Nazeem Gul, said thousands of labourers and pedestrians were also facing problems due to the border closure, adding that around 800 daily wagers had source of earning from there.
