PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) leader and MPA from Bajaur, Nisar Baz, on Tuesday accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of allocating development funds to unelected individuals in his constituency instead of elected representatives.
He questioned who would audit the spending of these funds and criticized the provincial government for continuously sidelining opposition lawmakers in the distribution of development funds.
Speaking to the media outside the Peshawar High Court, Nisar Baz stated that the provincial government was unfairly distributing funds, depriving opposition constituencies of their rightful share. He argued that the lack of funds had stalled development projects in his constituency.
“The provincial government is disrespecting the public mandate by allocating funds through unelected individuals,” he said. “The court has issued a stay order on the use of these funds,” he added. The ANP leader warned government officials against violating the court order. He emphasized that if development funds continued to be misused despite the stay order, he would file a contempt of court petition against the authorities concerned.
