Tributes paid to Hamza Baba
LANDIKOTAL: A literary event was organized here on Sunday to mark the 31st death anniversary of renowned Pashto poet Ameer Hamza Khan Shinwari popularly known as Hamza Baba.
The event was jointly arranged by the Khyber Youth Affairs Department and the Khyber Pakhto Adabi Jirga.The gathering was attended by poets, writers, intellectuals and community elders from different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Khyber district.
Speakers highlighted Hamza Baba’s literary contributions and his significant role in Pashto poetry and literature.On this occasion, renowned poets presented their poetic tributes dedicated to Hamza Baba, which were appreciated by the audience.
At the end of the event, the Khyber Pakhto Adabi Jirga and Hamza Baba’s family members expressed gratitude to the Khyber Youth Affairs Department for organizing the event. Shields and awards were distributed among prominent poets and writers.
