KARACHI: Assistant Commissioner Gadap Zainul Abdin Channa has been arrested for allegedly tampering with revenue records during his posting as Mukhtiarkar of Moro, district Naushahro Feroze, sources told The News on Friday.
The sources said Zainul Abdin Channa was arrested in a raid from Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area by a special team of the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment in collaboration with Karachi police.
According to Anti-Corruption Establishment sources, the relevant police station was being officially informed about the arrest of the Assistant Commissioner. After completing legal formalities, the sources added, Channa will be presented in court on Saturday (today).
The sources further said Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Murtaza Jatoi may also be named as a co-accused along with the arrested Assistant Commissioner. Murtaza Jatoi was arrested on February 18 outside District Sessions Court, Naushero Feroze.
