UVAS, B’desh varsity ink MoU to promote research activities
LAHORE:The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Bangladesh to promote research activities and enhancing professional skills through internship of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Younus and Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani from UVAS while Vice-Chancellor/Dean Faculty of Veterinary Medicine CVASU Prof Dr M Lutfur Rehman signed the MoU in a virtual ceremony held at UVAS City Campus.
Under the MoU, both institutions will exchange research materials, publication, academic information and they will work on joint research programmes and academic conferences. Both universities will exchange their students, faculty members and administrative staff for research and professional development. They will also collaborate in curriculum development, joint degree programme and certification programmes.
UVAS will provide facilitation of a one-month internship for CVASU students, providing practical training and exposure to advanced veterinary practices and CVASU-Bangladesh will also offer such facilities to UVAS students.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr M Younus said that UVAS warmly welcomed students from Muslim brother country Bangladesh in UVAS for internship. Prof Dr M Lutfur Rehman lauded UVAS lab facilities and hoped that CVASU students would gain maximum knowledge and experiences from UVAS experts through internship and students faculty exchange programmes.
