KHAR: A cop who was deployed to provide security to the polio vaccination team was martyred by suspected militants in Damadola area of Mamond tehsil in Bajaur on Wednesday.
The incident occurred during the ongoing anti-polio campaign when armed men opened fire on the cop. As a result, Constable Rabdimal Shah was martyred on the spot.
District Police Officer of Bajaur Waqar Rafiq confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation had been launched and strict measures were being taken to apprehend the culprits. “The culprits will be brought to justice,” he added.
