ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawyer Faisal Chaudhry Saturday said the party founding chairman has directed for launching a full-fledged movement for restoration of democracy, rule of law and protection of fundamental rights after Eid.
Talking to the media outside the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, he explained that the party supremo asked the negotiating committee under the leadership of Opposition leader Omar Ayub to engage with opposition leaders including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Mahrang Baloch and other nationalist leaders in this connection.
“The committee has been asked to take along all those political parties and politicians who consider the February 8 elections fraudulent,” he added.
Faisal said that on the direction of Imran Khan, PTI MNA Sanaullah Mastikhail has been included in the party’s political committee. He also said that a contempt plea was being filed against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz and others for allegedly using public funds for their own promotion through ads in violation of the apex court order.
He pointed out that another contempt application was being filed for denying the party leaders meetings with Imran Khan in violation of court order.
Quoting the PTI founding chairman, he said that no case of May 9 was filed against those who left the PTI, and even today, official witnesses were presented. Faisal said that an application for an open trial had been filed in the Islamabad High Court. “We demand justice from the state according to the Constitution and law.”
Meanwhile, Faisal’s elder brother and ex-federal minister Fawad Chaudhry said they would have an alliance with the JUIF before or after Ramazan. Speaking in a TV channel show, he said that when the elections were over, he had said that the PTI and Maulana should be brought closer, as there had been a lot of distance between the two parties.
However, he said that now the distance between PTI and JUI has reduced and many things have been resolved in both parties; Kamran Murtaza and Asad Qaiser discussed their issues in the meeting.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founding chairman Imran Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry, who is the brother of ex-minister Fawad Chaudhry, Saturday termed his slapping of Shoaib Shaheen very unfortunate.
“It is very unfortunate and I think, none can endorse or support violence,” he said during a Geo show when asked for his comment on the incident.
Faisal said on his return from the jail, he was informed about the incident by Shoaib Shaheen and he called it unfortunate. To a question, Faisal said he believed Imran was also informed about it. However, he did not say exactly what the party founding chairman’s reaction was to it.
“When Shoaib Shaheen told me, I said it is a very improper thing and I don’t endorse it. My own video went viral in which I don’t take pride, though people have taken it otherwise. That was a wrong thing and I don’t believe in beating someone,” he remarked.
Opposition parties strongly criticised move, accusing BJP government of targeting Muslim community ahead of Eid
“Efforts of KP government, led by CM Ali Amin Gnadapur are yielding positive results,” he said in a statement
