ABBOTTABAD: Three supporters of PTI were killed and two others sustained injuries in a clash between two rival groups at the Fawara Chowk here on Tuesday, sources said. The clash occurred due to tension over rigging allegations in the LB polls in KP.
Sources said that members of both the parties were sitting at a restaurant at Fawwara Chowk at around 2:30pm when they exchanged hot words that led to the clash. Two people sustained bullet injuries in the clash.
They were taken to the Ayub Medical Complex, where their condition was stated to be critical. Later, relatives of the deceased blocked the Karakoram Highway by placing the bodies on it. The road was reopened after efforts made by the local police.
The slain persons were identified as Muhammad Nazeer, Bostan and Kala Khan. The injured included Chaudhry Sabir and Naveed. A case of the incident was registered by the Cantonment Police Station. In another incident, a councillor-elect from village council Chammad was allegedly killed by his rivals when he was going home late Monday. Khan Muhammad was elected chairman of the union council by securing the highest number of votes in the election. An FIR was registered against unknown persons.
