Dome against excessive loadshedding

BAHAWALPUR: Locals of Satellite Town, One Unit Colony and Walled City Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against excessive loadshedding.
Citizens criticized the Mepco Bahawalpur circle authorities for indulging in outages at Sehr, Iftar and Taraveeh prayers timings.
DCO VISITS RAMAZAN BAZAAR: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar Wednesday visited Ramazan Bazaar at Khairpur Tamewali and checked quality and availability of essential items. Talking to consumers, the DCO said Price Control Magistrates and other officials acted against profiteers and hoarders and imposed Rs 280,00 fine on them. He said 24 cases were registered against violators in district Bahawalpur.
He also inspected quality of edibles and the price rates of kitchen items. He asked Assistant Commissioner Khairpur Tamewali Jam Aftab Hussain to take stern action against violators.
Earlier, in a high-level meeting presided over by DCO Dr Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, performance of Price Control Magistrates and other officers was discussed in detail. During the meeting, the DCO was told that fine to the tune of Rs 120,600 was imposed on violators and 3 cases were lodged in connection with enforcement of Ehtram-e-Ramazan ordinance. The DCO was told that the Anti-Adulteration Campaign was in full swing and Price Control Magistrates were conducting raids on violators.
SAFE JOURNEY DRIVE: SSP National Highways and Motorways Police Ghulam Jafar Wednesday chaired a meeting and urged patrolling officers to gear up their efforts to sensitise travelers about safe journey drive.
DSP Syed Muhammad Rizwan Shah and patrolling officers also attended the meeting.
BODY FOUND: A throat slit body of an unidentified man was found from the Iqbalabad canal near Khanpur on Wednesday. According to Iqbalabad police, the man was killed by unidentified assailants who threw it into the canal. Police shifted the body to THQ Hospital for an autopsy.
