The National Commission for Human Development is severely understaffed with more than 450 positions awaiting appointments long.
Established by the government in 2002, the NCHD is a statutory autonomous federal body with the mission to transform the people's lives by improving their access to basic education and healthcare in the country’s poorest communities.
The Ministry for Federal Education and Professional Training oversees the NCHD.
According to the latest statistics, currently, 454 NCHD posts, both officer and clerical ones, are lying vacant.
Of them, the most i.e. 251 are of BPS-9 followed by 58 of BPS-16, 53 of BPS-7 and 38 of BPS-4.
Also, four vacancies are of BPS-19, two of BPS-18, 14 of BPS-17, 19 of BPS-15 and 15 of BPS-1.
When contacted, an official concerned insisted the vacant posts couldn't be advertised for appointments until the NCHD service rules were not framed and approved by the government.
He said a draft of the Service Rules 2016 was placed before the Commission and that it was under consideration for approval.
