Two arrested in cop’s murder case
LAHORE:Lahore Police have arrested the individuals responsible for the torture and murder of ASI M Shahid from Islamabad. The suspects, identified as Adeel Javed and Umair Javed, were apprehended from the Bani Gala area in Islamabad. The accused allegedly murdered the ASI while he was on duty two days ago and subsequently fled the scene.
Nine die in road accidents in 24 hours
The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,380 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, nine people died, whereas 1,561 were injured. Out of these, 630 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 931 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Three bodies found
Three bodies were recovered from different locations in Lahore on Thursday. According to an Edhi spokesperson, the first body of 65-year-old man was found in Misri Shah Farooq Ganj area. Near Lal Pul, Mughalpura, a body of a 40-year-old man was found and later on it was identified as Asif of Nawan Pul. Meanwhile, body of Ghulam Sabir, 70, was found in the Zameer Town area of Chung, where reportedly he died of cardiac arrest.
Several criminals arrested
Lahore police Thursday claimed arresting several people for their involvement in various crimes. Data Darbar police rounded up accused Ali Raza on charges of stealing things. Dolphin Squad took a rickshaw thief in its custody.
The Baghbanpura police detained robber identified as Arshad alias Joker for his involvement in over 50 criminal cases. Dolphin Squad also arrested nine people linked to financial crimes during a separate operation.
Model Town Division police detained 23 individuals, including 11 women, from hotels suspected of operating as brothels. Sundar police arrested Zainab on charges of drug trafficking and recovered one kilogramme charas from her possession. Mozang police apprehended a bootlegger and recovered 100 litre liquor from his possession.
