ISLAMABAD: Civil Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti cancelled the arrest warrant for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zartaj Gul after she appeared in court with her lawyer.
The warrant had been issued due to Zartaj Gul’s repeated failure to appear in court, despite multiple summons in a case, filed by Bhara Kahu police. During the hearing on Wednesday, the judge had noted her non-appearance and issued the arrest warrant.
However, later that day, Zartaj Gul appeared in court, accompanied by her lawyers, including Sardar Masroor. Her lawyers requested the court to cancel the warrant, citing her appearance.
Judge Mubashir Chishti acknowledged her presence and cancelled the arrest warrant, stating, “Since Zartaj Gul has appeared in court, the warrant is cancelled.”
The case was then adjourned until March 12.
