Islamabad:Senator Sarmad Ali, also the managing director at Jang Media Group, returned to his alma mater, Islamabad College for Boys, G-6/3, after 50 years on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by noted architect and cultural anthropologist Zain Mustafa as well as Federal Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, who guided him through the premises and briefed him on the ongoing and upcoming educational reforms. The senator appreciated the school’s transformation, especially the introduction of modern learning methods and tools, and pledged his complete support and cooperation to further the cause of learning.
He was shown a wall display featuring photos of distinguished alumni who have made their mark in various fields. Sarmad Ali also took the time to engage with teachers and students, and shared his curricular and extracurricular experiences on campus with them. He said returning to his alma mater after nearly five decades was a delightful journey down memory lane. A recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s third-highest civilian honour, Sarmad Ali has made significant contributions to the newspaper sector.
