KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has reaffirmed that the province’s solar park will be completed on schedule.
Speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony marking the conclusion of a two-day training programme under the Sindh Solar Project at a local hotel on Wednesday, he said that significant progress has been made in advancing Sindh’s solar initiatives.
Minister Shah highlighted that several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during a recent visit to China with President Asif Ali Zardari. He further noted that an agreement with K-Electric (KE) was secured at the lowest tariff, aiming to provide people with clean, affordable energy while reducing reliance on expensive electricity.
He assured that the solar park would serve as a model project, attributing the success of the solar programme to the collective efforts of the Sindh government, including the chief minister, civil society, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Project Director of the Sindh Solar Project Mahfooz Qazi, along with other speakers, also addressed the gathering.
