JI demands justice for trader killed in police custody
Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Monem Zafar has demanded justice for the slain trader who was killed in police custody on Saturday.
Talking to the media after attending the funeral prayers for the slain trader, Waqas, he demanded the authorities complete the investigation into his death within three days as it was an open and shut case.
He called for exemplary punishment for all those involved in the killing of Waqas. He said the police department was supposed to safeguard the lives and possessions of the people but unfortunately the police had become notorious because of their high-handedness.
The JI leader said the general behaviour of the police towards the people was not good. He lamented that the police department had lost the trust of people because of black sheep. He demanded the authorities purge the police department of black sheep in order to restore the public trust and maintain law and order in society.
