BNPM senator’s resignation accepted
Acting Chairman Senate accepted resignation and consequently senator's seat has become vacant
ISLAMABAD: Senate acting Chairman Syedaal Khan has accepted the resignation of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNPM) lawmaker Muhammad Qasim Ronjho.
According to a notification issued by the Senate Secretariat, “Senator Muhammad Qasim, Member Senate of Pakistan, has resigned his seat by writing under his hand addressed to the Chairman Senate. The Honourable Acting Chairman Senate has been pleased to accept the resignation and consequently his seat has become vacant in terms of clause (1) of Article 64 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with effect from 8th February, 2025 (afternoon).”
Qasim was one of the two members of the Senate who had voted in favour of the 26th Constitutional Amendment in October last year, and then within 24 hours, changed his stance twice.
