Two highwaymen killed in Okara ‘encounter’

OKARA: Two highwaymen were killed in an alleged police encounter near Darbar Qurban Ali Shah on Monday night.

Police received information that six highwaymen were robbing the people of cash and valuables. Following the information, police rushed to the spot. Seeing police, the dacoits opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, two highwaymen were killed on the spot while four others managed to escape. The killed highwaymen were later identified as Yaseen and Allah Rakha of Chak 47/3R, Okara tehsil. They were wanted by police in a number of cases. The bodies were shifted to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, police claimed that the highwaymen were killed by the firing of their accomplices. DPO Faisal Rana has formed a team to arrest the fleeing criminals.
