Solar energy tariff
By News Desk
February 04, 2025
This letter refers to the news report ‘Government mulls changing buyback tariff for solar rooftops’ (January 27, 2025). Would it be unreasonable to expect that only the solar users pick up the resultant shortfall of the DISCOs while the latter make no effort to reduce the 25 per cent losses in their transmission system?
Unless the entire spectrum is examined and rationalised, there is every chance that solar users will shift to the ‘hybrid system’ which will cost them more but will not mitigate the woes of the national grid.
