Saif invites journalists, others to Feb 8 protest
PESHAWAR: Adviser to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif on Monday claimed that the public mandate was stolen through rigging in the last general election.
An official handout said that they would raise their voice against the amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, the 26th Constitutional Amendment and other tactics. “These laws are aimed at legitimizing the theft of the people’s mandate on February 8 last year,” he said.
Barrister Saif said that on February 8, 2024, democracy was strangled through rigging, and the people’s mandate was stolen. “The use of Form 47 led to the establishment of an illegitimate government, causing political instability in the country,” he said, adding that the rulers were now using black laws to prolong their power.
Barrister Saif invited journalists, thinkers, and people from all walks of life to join the protest on February 8. He emphasized that the Peca and the 26th Amendment would ultimately haunt the “fake” rulers.
“February 8 marks the day of the pledge to free the country from the clutches of mandate thieves,” he added. He claimed the federal government damaged the economy. Barrister Saif said the rulers were concerned with maintaining power.
