KARACHI: The installation of the floodlights at the PSB-owned National Coaching Center (NCC) has been marred by technical faults due to the lack of coordination among the planners.
According to a survey conducted by this scribe, floodlights have been installed at the wrong angles while the six installed towers only occupy the area of the tartan track and football ground in the middle.
The engineering fault was detected because the two synthetic turfs do not have specifically allocated floodlights. As a result, there won’t be enough brightness. Same was the case with Archery.
The work on the synthetic turf project started several months back and such engineering fault was enough to indicate lack of coordination among the planners. The specific floodlights should be designated for the two synthetic turfs and the archery.
The project is not yet completed and the management needs to understand there’s still some time to address this issue. Dozens of futsal, hockey 5 and archery players, when contacted, said that providing the facility of floodlights would be a great blessing as it will boost their skills.
